Let us never forget the sacrifices made by our veterans on behalf of this great country of ours. They fought and continue to fight for the freedoms we enjoy.

About Me

I am the Mayor of Plainfield, New Jersey, having been sworn in on January 1, 2014. I served on the City Council as the Third Ward Councilman from 2009-2013, as the At-Large Councilman for the 2nd and 3rd Wards from 1998-2004, and I also completed a 3-year term as Union County Freeholder.

I have been a resident of Plainfield for over 36 years. I am married to my childhood sweetheart, Amelia, and we are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Shermona and Ayisha.

I am the Chairman of the Plainfield Democratic City Committee, and I am dedicated to promoting honest, ethical leadership and government accountability. In addition, Amelia and I are members of the Plainfield Democratic City Committee, elected as Representatives in the 3-9.

I am a member of Frontiers International Plainfield Area Club, and my family and I are active members of Saint Mark's Episcopal Church.

I belong to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Government Finance Officers Association. I hold an M.B.A. in International Business from Fairleigh-Dickinson University and a B.S. in Accounting from Rutgers. I am a Certified Municipal Finance Officer (C.M.F.O.). Additionally, I possess a Certificate of Eligibility as a School Business Administrator. I currently work in the City of Orange, New Jersey.

My mayoral term ends December 31, 2017.
